Honoring a 116-Year Legacy While Looking Ahead
For more than a century, this orchard has been a cherished part of the Capital Region. Now, Goold Hill Estate begins an exciting new chapter under the ownership of agricultural entrepreneurs Neviana Zhgaba and Ardian Llomi, founders of the award-winning Aquila's Nest Vineyards. Expected to reopen in late Summer 2026, the estate is being carefully restored while preserving the character and traditions that have made it a beloved destination for generations. Visitors can look forward to fresh experiences, family-friendly events, and a renewed connection to the land. As part of the restoration, the existing 90-acre orchard is undergoing extensive pruning and revitalization to bring it back to full production. At the same time, the property will welcome new vineyard plantings, continuing the winemaking history once established by Brookview Station Winery and laying the foundation for future estate-grown wines.Neviana and Ardian have successfully transformed farms before. In 2016, they took a vacant 41-acre property in Connecticut and built Aquila's Nest Vineyards into one of the state's premier destinations. Today, the vineyard has been recognized as Connecticut's Best Vineyard, named National Small Producer Winery of the Year, and selected by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as one of America's Top 70 Small Businesses. At Goold Hill Estate, the vision is simple: preserve what makes this property special while creating new opportunities for families, visitors, and the local community to enjoy it for years to come.
